Ryan Ruiz

MacLellan Awards Scholarship

Sun, 05/15/2016 - 12:08

Congratulation to Ryan Ruiz, recipient of the 2015 MacLellan Education Fund Scholarship. Ryan graduated last June from Scott County High School where he was the Vice President of Student Council, Beta Club Member, and member of the largest band in the State of Kentucky, while maintaining a 3.5 GPA.

While at Scott County High School, Ryan attended Elkhorn Crossing School of Media Arts for three years. Elkhorn Crossing School is an inquiry-based school where the lines between technical and academics are deliberately blurred. All students use technology to research, produce and present across disciplines. Much of the class work is project based and applies to real world applications. This, along with Ryan’s creativity has prepared him for the next step of his journey. Ryan was accepted to Northern Kentucky University where he will pursue a Business & Marketing Degree.

On May 21, 2015 Scott County High School held there Senior Awards night. Ryan was aware of the Commonwealth Excellence Scholarship from Northern Kentucky University for his academic achievement and his ACT score. Ryan was surprised when he was awarded the MacLellan Scholarship. Ryan said “I am grateful and honored to have been awarded the MacLellan Scholarship, this will allow me to focus more time on my studies as I work towards my goal of graduating from college in 2019.”
